Anton Gill (born 1948) has been a full-time professional writer since 1984, and in the course of the last 27 years he has published 35 books. For the most important titles, see the booklist attached.

Gill was born in Ilford, Essex, the son of a German father and an English mother, and grew up in London. He was educated at Chigwell School and Clare College, Cambridge,[1] and worked in the theatre (especially at the Royal Court Theatre in London), for the Arts Council and for the BBC and TV-am before turning to full-time writing.[2] He has written on a variety of mainly historical subjects, including three biographies. His work includes both fiction and non-fiction, but his special field is contemporary European history.

He uses two pseudonyms: Oliver Bowden and Ray Evans[3] He wrote Assassin's Creed: Renaissance, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (novel), Assassin's Creed: The Secret Crusade and Assassin's Creed: Revelations (novel) under the name of Oliver Bowden.

He is married to the actress Marji Campi and divides his time between homes in London and Paris.
